Ministry Overview
“Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praise unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people.."Psalm 149:3-4
The focus of this ministry is to express God’s presence in the services through music, dance and theatrical arts. We respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit using a combination of these skills. We are also dedicated to glorifying God by encouraging, training and empowering people in the areas of music and performing arts. We help them to develop their God-given gifts in their desired art form.
Interpretive Dance Ministry
The Interpretive Dance Ministry is a visual ministry that uses dance to express and minister the Word of God. Dance is integrated as a form of worship, spiritual warfare, outreach and edification. The main purpose of this art form is to assist and lead the congregation into a greater admiration of praise and worship to God. Performances are not limited to dance alone, but include the use of flags, tambourines, banners, and streamers to aid in worship and spiritual warfare. Our goal for those called to the ministry of dance, is to develop their whole being; spiritually, mentally and physically.
Musicians
This ministry provides the accompaniment for the worship services and musicals featured at The City of Refuge. There are no restrictions regarding the type and range of musical instrument one can play. All are welcome in the band of committed musicians for Christ.
Praise & Worship Adult Team
The Praise Team consists of people who first and foremost love to worship! If you have a desire and passion to use your vocal talent to lead the congregation into God’s presence through praise and worship, this ministry is for you.
Praise & Worship 2 HYPE Teens & Step Team
The 2 HYPE Teen Praise Team consists of teens, ages 12 to 18 singing and performing in a way that they can understand and grasp God’s Word. This ministry of young people expresses God’s power in their lives and their love for Him.
Choir
The focus of this ministry is to communicate the message of God’s saving grace and power. They are dedicated to presenting music in variety of styles that glorify God and minister through songs of praise to His people.
Kingdom Kid’s Choir & Angels of Praise Dance Team
The City of Refuge is changing the destiny of our children to where they are nurtured in their gifts, talents and skills. They prepare to minister in song and our children’s dance team called Angels of Praise ministers through dance with the joy of the Lord. Come join a team of peers from K thru sixth grade as they touch the hearts and minds of God’s people through praise.
Audio Visual & Media
The Audio Visual Ministry provides audio reinforcement, technical support, recording, reproduction and preservation of the Word of God. Our Media team of volunteers gives the congregation an opportunity to have a visual and dramatized worship experience through slide presentations, dramatized biblical narration, music and video announcements. We present our church in a professional manner using many forms of production mediums to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
